The IEEE CSR 2023 conference will be held in Rhodes, Greece, during July 31–August 2, 2023. As the  conferences mentions “The technological and industrial revolution brought by complex Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs) comes with new threats and cyber-attacks that exploit their inherent complexity and heterogeneity. These attacks have a significant negative impact on the operation of various services in critical sectors, like energy, transport, and communications, which provide the vital functions that our societies depend upon. The conference focuses on theoretical and practical aspects of the security, privacy, trust, and resilience of networks, systems, and services as well as novel ways for dealing with their vulnerabilities and mitigating sophisticated cyber-attacks..”

In this context DYNABIC is affiliated with the EPES SPR workshop, which is part/workshop of the overall IEEE CSR 2023 conference. The digitization of the conventional model of the Electrical Power and Energy Systems (EPES) into the new architectural paradigm, Smart Grid (SG), had brought within two-way communication, pervasive control and self-healing services that have enlarge the attack surface, beyond the already defense challenges foster by the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) / Industrial Control Systems (ICS) usage of insecure protocols and the autonomous nature of IIoT among other.

This workshop brings together academia and industry so as to anticipate the critical issues of EPES/SG. Topics such as Intrusion/anomaly detection and mitigation, SDN/NFV-based architectures for resilient EPES/SG,  EPES/SG honeypots and honeynets, SIEM systems, Self-healing, Security management and risk assessment, Threat modelling and vulnerability analysis and Emerging privacy-preserving mechanisms and techniques, will be addressed in the workshop.
